Around 130 hamsters escaped their cages on a Portuguese flight, causing damage and delays.

Around 130 hamsters escaped their cages on a TAP Air Portugal flight after landing in Ponta Delgada, Azores. The rodents, intended for a pet shop delivery, damaged power cables by chewing through them, grounding the aircraft. Maintenance teams have been capturing the hamsters, but 16 are still at large, delaying the plane's return to Lisbon. The cages were accepted on the flight despite not meeting initial safety standards.
