Nigerian security forces rescued 58 kidnapped individuals, handing them over to Kaduna State authorities.

The National Security Adviser, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, and the Chief of Defence Staff, Gen. Christopher Musa, handed over 58 kidnapped individuals, including 35 males and 23 females, to the Kaduna State Government. The victims were rescued from kidnappers in Katsina State without paying a ransom. Gen. Musa highlighted the importance of collaboration among security agencies and Nigerians to combat kidnapping and insecurity, accusing some individuals of undermining rescue efforts.
