London non-profits protest cuts to grants that could eliminate vital community services.

A network of 350 London-based non-profits is campaigning against proposed cuts to community grants, which could drop from $500,000 to $250,000 or zero. These grants support smaller groups providing vital services like arts and homelessness support. Pillar CEO Maureen Cassidy argues that without these funds, many non-profits could collapse. The grants represent just 0.02% of the city's $1 billion budget, or about $6 on the average property tax bill.
