India's vehicle sales surged 11.76% during its festive season, buoyed by two-wheeler demand, despite weather disruptions.

During India's 42-day festive season, vehicle sales rose 11.76% to 42.88 lakh units, up from 38.37 lakh last year. Two-wheelers saw a 13.79% jump in sales to 33.11 lakh units, driven by rural demand. Passenger vehicle sales increased 7.10% to 6.03 lakh units, fueled by discounts and new models. However, heavy rains in South India and Cyclone Dana slightly impacted sales, leaving FADA's target of 45 lakh units unmet. The industry expects further stock reductions as dealers prepare for the end of the year.
