Haryana, India, has successfully cultivated Direct Sown Rice (DSR) on 1,015 acres using herbicide-tolerant Basmati rice varieties. Developed by the Indian Agricultural Research Institute and distributed by Nuziveedu Seeds, these varieties have led to higher grain yields, cost savings, and water conservation. The initiative, which involved training 6,000 farmers, sets a benchmark for other Indian states to follow.
