Former Greek Prime Minister Antonis Samaras was expelled from the ruling New Democracy party due to his persistent criticism of the government's policies, especially regarding Turkey negotiations and same-sex marriage legislation. Samaras called for the removal of Foreign Minister George Gerapetritis and proposed Costas Karamanlis as a presidential candidate. Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis stated that Samaras' actions were unacceptable and that the government majority will continue without him.
