U.S. business inventories rose by 0.1% in September, lower than the anticipated 0.2% increase. Retail inventories increased by 0.9%, while manufacturing and wholesale inventories both fell by 0.2%. Business sales climbed by 0.3%, with retail sales up 0.8% and wholesale sales increasing 0.3%, but manufacturing sales dropped by 0.4%. The overall business inventories-to-sales ratio stayed at 1.38.
