Surgeon Commander Diviya Gautam becomes head of a naval hospital, as India lays keel for new support ships.

Surgeon Commander Diviya Gautam took over as head of the Naval Hospital INHS Kalyani in Visakhapatnam on November 13. Gautam has extensive experience, including service on a US Navy hospital ship and roles as Fleet Medical Officer. Separately, the keel-laying ceremony for the first of five Fleet Support Ships was held. These ships, with a displacement of over 40,000 tons, will enhance the Indian Navy's 'Blue Water' capabilities and support humanitarian aid, aligning with India's shipbuilding and self-reliance initiatives.
