Scientists create functional blood vessels in lab-grown organoids, advancing disease research.

Researchers at the University of Oulu, Finland, have developed a new method to grow functional blood vessels in lab-grown mini-organs called organoids. Using a chicken embryo's membrane and a specialized device, the blood vessels connect to the embryo's circulatory system. This technique, tested on kidney organoids, could significantly enhance the study of diseases and drug testing, as well as accelerate research on conditions like cancer, diabetes, and high blood pressure.
