Rio Tinto partners with GravitHy for a French decarbonization project, targeting significant CO2 cuts in steelmaking.
Rio Tinto has partnered with GravitHy to support their decarbonization project in France, aiming to reduce CO2 emissions in steelmaking. Rio Tinto will supply high-grade iron ore pellets and manage the sales of ultra-low carbon HBI produced by GravitHy. The project, set to launch in 2028, includes a facility that uses nuclear power for hydrogen production, potentially cutting ironmaking emissions by over 90%.
