RCMP cleared of wrongdoing in British Columbia crash that killed three people after man drove recklessly post-arrest.

British Columbia's Independent Investigations Office cleared RCMP officers of wrongdoing in a fatal crash that killed three people near Logan Lake. The crash occurred when a man, who had been removed from a hotel by police 90 minutes earlier, drove recklessly at high speed and in the wrong lane. Though a toxicology test showed he had consumed cannabis above the legal limit, officers were deemed reasonable in not apprehending him at the hotel as they did not believe he was impaired at the time. The report concluded that the officers were not responsible for the deaths and faced no criminal liability.
