Ontario signs $100M deal with SpaceX for high-speed internet in 15,000 remote homes via Starlink.

Ontario's government has signed a $100 million deal with SpaceX to provide high-speed internet to 15,000 remote homes in rural and northern areas through the Starlink satellite system. The ONSAT program, headed by Minister Kinga Surma, covers equipment and installation but not monthly fees. The service is set to launch next summer, part of a larger $2.5 billion investment to connect 550,000 Ontarians to high-speed internet. SpaceX won the contract over several competitors.
