Ontario is planning new legislation that would prevent registered sex offenders from legally changing their names. Part of Christopher's Law, the changes will also mandate that offenders disclose their email and social media accounts, report any username changes, and adhere to stricter travel rules, including reporting new passports or driver's licenses. Named after Christopher Stephenson, an 11-year-old murdered by a sex offender in 1998, the law aims to assist police in solving sex crimes and protecting children.
