Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds is promoting health care apprenticeship programs to address the state's shortage of medical professionals. Reynolds toured Broadlawns Medical Center, which has 80 apprentices out of a goal of 220. The state has invested $16 million over three years, training more than 380 apprentices. Additionally, the USDA announced $18.4 million for rural energy projects across Iowa to lower costs for agricultural producers and small businesses.
