A fire engulfed an empty Kansas City apartment complex early Friday, contained by firefighters by 7 a.m.

A significant fire broke out at an empty apartment complex in Kansas City early Friday morning, starting around 5:30 a.m. Firefighters fought the intense blaze, which engulfed the first floor and spread up through the roof, from outside due to structural concerns. The Kansas City Fire Department closed nearby roads and used aerial water trucks to combat the flames, successfully containing the fire by 7 a.m. No injuries were reported, and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
