Demand for industrial spaces in Romania drops 20% this year, yet Bucharest leads with renewals.

Real estate firm Cushman & Wakefield Echinox reports a 20% drop in demand for logistics and industrial spaces in Romania during the first nine months of 2024, totaling 575,000 square meters. Despite this decline, Bucharest remains the leading market, with renewals accounting for 42% of transactions. Developers completed over 170,000 square meters in the third quarter, with projections of 500,000 square meters for the year. The sector continues to be driven by the consumer and manufacturing sectors, with infrastructure improvements supporting growth outside Bucharest.
