UK group calls for stricter driving rules for young drivers, including a zero-alcohol limit and passenger bans.

The Automobile Association (AA) in the UK is pushing for stricter driving rules for drivers under 21, including a Graduated Driving Licence (GDL) scheme. This proposal includes a zero-alcohol limit, a ban on passengers of similar age for six months, and expanded training involving rural roads and motorways. MP Kim Leadbeater introduced a bill to enforce these measures, while the Association of British Insurers supports the bill but suggests raising the age limit to under 25.
