Three nations form ICE Pact to boost Arctic icebreaker production and cooperation.

Canada, the US, and Finland have formed the Icebreaker Collaboration Effort (ICE Pact) to enhance production of top-quality polar icebreakers. The partnership aims to rapidly share information and reduce costs, with Canada planning to build two new polar icebreakers and other vessels. The pact includes workforce development and seeks to strengthen Arctic presence amid global expansion of icebreaker fleets.
