Singapore authorities crack down on scams involving sold WhatsApp accounts and unauthorized credit card transactions.

In Singapore, authorities are tackling two types of scams. A 37-year-old man and a 33-year-old woman are charged with selling WhatsApp accounts to scammers, leading to the seizure of over 6,800 SIM cards and 15 phones. Separately, fraud syndicates are sending foreigners to use stolen credit card details for contactless payments at retail stores, leading to unauthorized transactions totaling over $100,000 in the past month. Police have arrested suspects and issued warnings to retailers.
