Scottish group secures funds to turn 20-acre field into community space, reversing housing plans.

A community group in Inverness, Knocknagael Ltd, has secured funding from the Scottish Land Fund to buy a 20-acre field, originally planned for housing. The group plans to develop the area into allotments, an orchard, and recreational spaces. After an independent panel overturned an initial rejection, the group now needs to negotiate the purchase with the Rural Payments Inspectorate Division, which currently owns the land.
