Romania's nuclear energy profits plummet, while national grid company sees significant income growth.

Romania's sole nuclear energy producer, Nuclearelectrica, saw a 35% drop in net profit to RON1.28 billion and a 40% decrease in operating income to RON3.39 billion in the first nine months of 2024. Meanwhile, Transelectrica, the national grid company, reported a 16% rise in operating income to RON1.74 billion and a net profit of RON410 million, doubling from the previous year. These figures reflect the contrasting financial impacts on energy sectors in Romania.
