One-third of students in Health and Science T-levels drop out, leading the EPI to call for program changes.

The Education Policy Institute (EPI) reported that one-third of students in Health and Science T-levels drop out before finishing, with nearly half leaving education entirely. T-levels, introduced by the Conservative government as a main vocational route, have seen low completion rates, especially in Health and Science. Only 2% of students in the preparatory T-level transition program progress to the full course. The EPI recommends abolishing or overhauling this program and considering smaller alternatives to T-levels. The Labour government is reviewing plans to defund alternative courses like BTecs, with results expected soon.
