Norwegian firm Equinor discovers oil and gas reserves of 13-28 million barrels in the North Sea.

Norwegian energy firm Equinor has discovered oil and gas reserves estimated at 13 to 28 million barrels of oil equivalent in the North Sea, north of the Troll field. Slightly more than half of the find is gas. This discovery, made using the Deepsea Atlantic rig, is the first in the area since 2024. Equinor, with a 45% stake, leads the project alongside partners Vår Energi and INPEX Idemitsu Norge. The companies will evaluate tying the discovery to existing infrastructure for optimal development and low emissions.
