Nigeria launches $134M loan program to enhance dry season farming and food production.

The Nigerian government has launched a $134 million loan program from the African Development Bank to boost dry season farming and food production. This initiative aims to increase the cultivation of staple crops such as wheat, rice, maize, sorghum, soybean, and cassava, supporting over 250,000 wheat farmers and 150,000 rice farmers. The program also includes an ICT-based platform to improve access to agricultural inputs like fertilizers and quality seeds, enhancing food security and economic revival in Nigeria.
