Homebase sells part of its stores to CDS, securing some jobs but leaving others' futures uncertain.

Homebase, a UK DIY retailer, has been partially sold to CDS, owner of The Range, securing 70 stores and up to 1,600 jobs. Despite this, the future of 49 Homebase stores and around 2,000 jobs remains uncertain. Homebase's struggles stem from a decline in consumer confidence and spending, high inflation, and supply chain issues. The Homebase brand will continue online, with physical stores transitioning to The Range. Administrators are still seeking buyers for the remaining stores.
