Four die in Nigeria from suspected Lassa fever; outbreak prompts hospital closures and awareness campaigns.

Four people, including a 32-year-old woman, have died in Saki West, Oyo State, Nigeria, from a suspected Lassa fever outbreak. The Oyo State Rapid Response Team (RRT) confirmed the deaths and traced the infection to a hospital apprentice who had recently returned from Iwajowa. Two hospitals were closed for decontamination, and awareness campaigns were launched to educate the public about Lassa fever. The outbreak has spread to nearby areas, prompting further containment measures.
