Dubai's DEC unveils a $2.72B expansion to double event capacity and boost local economy.

Dubai's Exhibition Centre (DEC) is expanding with a $2.72 billion project, approved by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. Set to open in 2026, the expansion will use the steel equivalent of two Eiffel Towers and aims to host up to 600 events annually, doubling the current number. The DEC will become the region's largest indoor venue, capable of accommodating 50,000 daily visitors. The project is part of Dubai's 2040 Urban Master Plan and is expected to triple the economic output of the events sector to $14.76 billion annually by 2033.
