Developer plans $135-$155M hotel at Ocean City's closed Gillian's Wonderland Pier, preserving its Ferris wheel.

Developer Eustace Mita plans to turn the closed Gillian's Wonderland Pier in Ocean City, New Jersey, into a $135-$155 million, 252-room oceanfront hotel called "Icona in Wonderland." The project aims to preserve the park's iconic Ferris wheel and carousel while adding retail shops and 375 parking spots. Despite some opposition, the plan requires approval from city officials before construction can begin in 2025, expected to last 24 months.
