The Boston Marathon brought $500M economic impact, with half of 500K spectators from out of town.

The Boston Marathon generated about $500 million in economic impact for Massachusetts, attracting visitors and boosting local businesses. Half of the 500,000 spectators come from outside the region, spending an average of $500 on lodging, dining, and other activities. The charity program also set a record, raising $45.7 million for 160 organizations. The 129th marathon is set for April 21, 2025.
