Bihar approves 3% dearness allowance hike for employees and pensioners, along with rural and tourist infrastructure schemes.

The Bihar government, under Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, has approved a 3% increase in dearness allowance for state employees and pensioners, raising it to 53% effective July 1, 2024. This decision, among others, also includes a new scheme providing ₹1 lakh to landless families for land purchase and ₹120.58 crore for tourist infrastructure near the Punaura Dham Janki Mandir. Other initiatives focus on rural road upgrades, non-financed colleges, and urban infrastructure improvements.
