Artem Vasilyev, a 27-year-old former defense employee and electronics engineer, was sentenced to nearly five years in prison for 22 firearms offenses. Vasilyev was acquitted of plotting a terrorist act in Adelaide. He will be eligible for parole after three years. A forensic psychologist noted Vasilyev likely has undiagnosed autism spectrum disorder and poses a low risk for future violence. His social skills have reportedly improved in prison.
