US, South Korea, and Japan start "Freedom Edge" drills in response to North Korea's missile test.

South Korea, the U.S., and Japan are conducting a three-day joint military exercise called "Freedom Edge" starting Wednesday, in response to North Korea's recent intercontinental ballistic missile test. The drills include fighter jets, maritime patrol aircraft, and the U.S. aircraft carrier USS George Washington. This exercise is part of annual training drills agreed upon by the three countries last year. The drills also involve maritime missile defense and cyber defense training.
