Two women, mistakenly switched at birth in a Norwegian hospital, sue for human rights violations over the decades-long cover-up.

Two 59-year-old women, raised in a 1965 birth mix-up at a Norwegian hospital, are suing the state and municipality for human rights violations. Karen Rafteseth Dokken raised Mona, who was not her biological daughter, and they only discovered the truth through DNA tests in 2021. Authorities found out about the mix-up in the 1980s but concealed it. The women argue their right to a family life was compromised and demand an apology and compensation. The trial is ongoing in the Oslo District Court.
