SSE's CEO, Alistair Phillips-Davies, announces retirement in 2025 after boosting profits and focusing on renewable energy.

SSE's CEO, Alistair Phillips-Davies, announced his retirement in 2025 after over a decade leading the company. During his tenure, SSE saw a significant profit increase of 26% to £714.5 million, largely due to its renewable energy division. Phillips-Davies also led the company's exit from the retail energy market in 2019 and initiated a £20.5 billion investment plan. SSE is committed to achieving net zero emissions and is working on major projects like the Dogger Bank offshore wind farm. The company has yet to name a successor.
