Record holiday air travel expected, with daily passengers near 2.5 million, FAA invests to handle surge.

The holiday season is expected to bring record-high air travel, with daily passenger traffic averaging nearly 2.5 million. Larger airports, especially those in warmer states like Florida and Arizona, will see significant increases, up to 7.2% more traffic than usual. The Federal Aviation Administration is investing $289 million to improve infrastructure at 129 airports to handle the surge. Despite the overall increase, colder states like Maine and Alaska may see fewer travelers.
