PJ Davis, 64, sues ESB over 2016 fall from pole, claims faulty equipment; ESB denies, cites lack of safety rope.

A 64-year-old ESB worker, PJ Davis, is suing the ESB in the High Court, claiming he fell from an electricity pole in Co Longford in 2016 due to incorrectly installed equipment. Davis suffered a shattered hip, spending weeks in the hospital and not returning to work until March 2017. The ESB denies the claim, arguing that Davis fell because he did not secure himself with an auxiliary rope. The case continues before Mr. Justice Conor Dignam.
