New Zealand launches a two-year trial to help chronically homeless single individuals and couples find permanent housing.

The New Zealand government is launching a two-year trial to help single people and couples without children, who have been in emergency housing for over a year, transition to permanent homes. Up to 100 participants will receive tailored support, including health care, budgeting, employment services, and counseling. The goal is to reduce emergency housing by 75% by 2030, with the trial run by Wellington City Mission and Emerge Aotearoa in Waikato.
