A consortium led by Jacobs and Mott MacDonald has been appointed to design West Yorkshire's £2.5 billion mass transit system, integrating cycling, walking, and rail. The project aims to connect communities, boost the economy, and improve health and sustainability. The first phase, expected to start in 2028, will include Light Rapid Transit lines serving Leeds and Bradford. The UK government has allocated £200 million for initial development.
