India forms first all-women security battalion of over 1,000 in CISF.

The Indian government has approved the formation of the first all-women reserve battalion within the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), consisting of over 1,000 personnel. This elite unit, led by a senior commandant, aims to boost women's roles in national security, with members receiving specialized training for various security roles, including VIP protection and airport security. The battalion will be drawn from the existing CISF workforce, currently comprising about 7% women, and is expected to bolster security at critical installations like airports and historical monuments.
