Gunmen attacked a military checkpoint in Umuahia, Abia State, Nigeria, killing two soldiers. The attack happened early Wednesday morning when unknown gunmen in a white Lexus vehicle ambushed the checkpoint. While the attackers' exact number is unknown, they are believed to be associated with the Indigenous People of Biafra and its armed affiliate, the Eastern Security Network. The military repelled the attack but lost two soldiers. Officials are urging residents to provide information to help track down the attackers.
