GM recalls nearly 462,000 diesel trucks and SUVs due to a transmission defect that could lock rear wheels.

General Motors is recalling nearly 462,000 diesel-powered pickup trucks and SUVs due to a transmission defect that could cause the rear wheels to lock up, increasing crash risk. Affected models include certain 2020-2022 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra, and 2021 Cadillac Escalade, GMC Yukon, Chevrolet Tahoe, and Suburban. GM will notify owners in December and provide free software updates to monitor valve wear and prevent lockups.
