Former Quitman High School bookkeeper pleads guilty to embezzlement, sentenced to 7 years suspended.

Former Quitman High School bookkeeper Memory Smith pleaded guilty to embezzlement, admitting to using school activity fund cash for personal expenses. Smith was sentenced to 7 years suspended, 5 years of probation, and a $2,000 fine in the 10th District Circuit Court. State Auditor Shad White praised the work of investigators and prosecutors in the case.
