Former Malaysian Finance Minister Daim Zainuddin, 86, passed away on Wednesday after being in intensive care following a stroke. He served as finance minister twice under former Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad, playing a key role in economic restructuring and managing the Asian financial crisis. Recently, Daim faced charges for failing to disclose assets, to which he pleaded not guilty. His funeral was held the same day.
