Chinese Premier Li Qiang announced an extension of public holidays by two days starting January 1, 2025. The Spring Festival holiday will increase from three days to four, including Lunar New Year's Eve. May Day will also expand from one to two days, adding May 2. Public holidays can be combined with weekends or annual leave for longer breaks, with working days around holidays generally limited to six consecutive days.
