Binghamton man sentenced to 6.5 years for weapon possession related to a shooting.

A 20-year-old Binghamton man, Lamont Weaver, has been sentenced to 6.5 years in prison for criminal possession of a weapon, following a shooting incident on April 27 near 100 Susquehanna Street. Judge Carol Cocchiola emphasized the need to protect the community, while Broome County District Attorney Paul Battisti called for Weaver to reflect on his actions and seek rehabilitation. Weaver will also be on five years of post-release supervision.
