Wheelocity, a startup focused on delivering fresh produce and groceries to semi-urban and rural areas in India, has secured $15 million in funding. The investment, led by Lightspeed with other backers, will help Wheelocity expand to 20,000 towns and villages, aiming to serve 10 million users. The company uses a fleet of 1,500 electric three-wheelers and over 2,000 gig workers to deliver products directly to consumers, sourcing from farmers and operating 60 micro-warehouses.
