Vodafone reports a 1.7% revenue rise and plans early 2024 merger with Three UK.

Vodafone reported a 1.7% rise in service revenue to €15.1 billion for the first half of the year, despite a decline in Germany due to new laws. The company expects to complete its merger with Three UK early next year, pending approval from the Competition and Markets Authority. Vodafone's operating profit surged 28.3% to €2.4 billion, largely due to the sale of a stake in Indus Towers. The merger, part of CEO Margherita Della Valle's turnaround plan, also includes selling businesses in Italy, Spain, and other countries.
