Vietnam's locally made car sales outpaced imports in October, boosted by lower costs and fees.

In October 2024, Vietnam's locally assembled car sales surpassed imported car sales for the first time, with 21,113 units sold, marking an 8% increase from the previous month. This growth, fueled by lower prices and a 50% reduction in registration fees, led to a total 38,761 units sold, a 53% rise compared to October 2023. Toyota and VinFast were leading brands, with VinFast delivering over 11,000 electric cars.
