UAE's Masdar signs $1 billion deal for a 1GW wind farm in Kazakhstan, aiming to power 300,000 homes.

Masdar, a UAE-based renewable energy company, has signed a $1 billion deal to build a 1GW wind farm in Kazakhstan's Jambyl region. This project, co-developed with local and international partners, includes a 600MWh battery storage system and aims to reduce CO2 emissions by 2 million tonnes annually. Scheduled to start construction early 2026, the wind farm will power around 300,000 homes and enhance Kazakhstan's clean energy production.
