Taiwan's average monthly wage rose 3.22% to NT$46,643, with many firms raising pay to attract workers.
In September, Taiwan saw a 3.22% year-on-year increase in average monthly regular wages to NT$46,643 ($1,446), with total wages rising 3.41% to NT$56,346. The growth is due to firms adjusting pay to combat worker shortages and attract talent. Over 54.7% of firms raised wages three times in the past three years, with nearly 60% adjusting by 5%. Despite this, the service sector, including hotels and restaurants, still has below-average wages.
